| Description | "Fancy Free Fly Fishing Retreat" (a 4star rated Lodge) is 260km from Johannesburg-about 2.5 hour’s drive-in a scenic valley between Belfast and Watervalboven.
The Lodge is surrounded by mountains and valleys that is so typical to the Lowveld’s peace and serenity. Waterfalls, streams and valleys give the atmosphere of peace, tranquility and freedom - something that people don’t know anymore in our polluted, noisy cities. It is a world where time is inclined to come to a standstill. These beautiful and well-equipped self-catering units offer you all the comforts to make your stay an unforgettable experience. There are three Log Cabins (2 overlooking dams) all with en-suite bathrooms, lounge, dining areas and fully equipped kitchens. All Cabins have a fireplace and Dstv (bring own smart card). Every Log Cabin has a outside "boma" where you can dine under the African sky and stars at night. The names of the Log cabins all derive from trout flies "MATUKA" - 6leeper with annexure to it "WOOLY BUGGER" - 4sleeper "INVICTA" - 4 sleeper "MARABOU" - 4 sleeper For the more adventurous angler there is a Luxurious East African Style Tented Camp that also has its own kitchen, en-suite bathroom and "boma" area. Tented camp can sleep 2-6 comfortably. All facilities are serviced twice daily. Excellent fly-fishing for rainbow and brown trout. Bass fishing also available. Choose your challenge from ten picturesque dams. 3 Bass dams and 7 Trout dams. Catch and release is practiced. Fly Fishing tuition available on request as well as hiring of Rods. | Directions | Take the N1 to Witbank then on to Belfast. Continue along the N4, passing three garages (Milly's One-Stop, Machadadorp Shell and Horse Shoe Garage). Drive for approximately 300m, then turn left onto the dirt road indicating Dullstroom. Carry on with the dirt road for about 5km. On your right you will see a bricked wall entrance with a brown gate with FANCY FREE on it. Slide open the gate and drive through. (Please close gate after entering). Proceed on this road and keep left to 2nd brown gate - proceed through the gate and park at undercover parking. |
